Nizwa & the Interior
Journey into Oman's historic interior to explore Nizwa's fort and souq, traditional settlements and the oasis landscapes that shaped life beneath the Al Hajar Mountains.
Discover Muscat properly on a private half-day tour combining the city's essential landmarks with local food, stories and neighbourhoods. From the Grand Mosque to Muttrah and Old Muscat, explore the capital at a relaxed pace with your own local guide.
Muscat is a city best explored with someone who can connect the landmarks with the life happening around them.
This private half-day tour introduces you to the essential sights of Oman’s capital without turning the morning into a race between photo stops. We’ll begin at the magnificent Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque before making our way through Qurum and towards the historic waterfront of Muttrah.
Along the way, we’ll stop for a taste of Oman — perhaps local bread, karak, Omani coffee or halwa — and talk about everyday life, culture and the changes that have shaped modern Muscat.
In Muttrah, we’ll explore the fish market, walk along the Corniche and wander through the lanes of Muttrah Souq. Depending on time and your interests, we can continue to Muttrah Fort before finishing around Old Muscat and Al Alam Palace.
This is a private tour, so there is room to slow down, ask questions and spend more time at the places that interest you.
It is designed especially for first-time visitors, cruise passengers, stopover travellers and anyone who wants a meaningful introduction to Muscat without committing an entire day.
Licensed Omani tour guide
I’m an Omani tour guide based in Muscat and the person behind Your Oman Guide. I created it to offer a more personal way to experience Oman — private days, local context and enough flexibility to explore at your own pace. I enjoy showing visitors not only the landmarks, but also the places, food and stories that make Oman feel like home.
