This tour includes walking through the souq, fort and traditional village areas, sometimes over uneven surfaces.
Modest clothing is recommended, particularly when visiting traditional communities.
Nizwa Souq is especially lively on Friday mornings, when the traditional livestock market takes place.
The Friday market requires an earlier departure from Muscat and is subject to the local market schedule.
Outdoor conditions can be hot during the warmer months, so sun protection is recommended.
The order and timing of stops may change according to opening hours, local conditions and the pace of the group.

Is Nizwa Fort included?
The standard itinerary includes a visit to Nizwa Fort. Unless specifically stated in your booking, the entrance fee is paid separately.
Can I see the Nizwa livestock market?
The traditional livestock market normally takes place on Friday morning. If this is important to you, book the Friday version of the tour so we can depart Muscat earlier.
Is there much walking?
The tour involves easy to moderate walking through Nizwa, the fort and Birkat Al Mouz. We can adjust the pace because this is a private tour.
Is this tour suitable for children?
Yes. The standard itinerary generally works well for families and can be adapted to the group's pace.
What should I wear?
Comfortable, modest clothing is recommended. Lightweight clothing works well for most of the year, together with comfortable walking shoes and sun protection.
Can we spend more time at a particular place?
Yes. This is a private tour, so there is flexibility to spend more time on the places that interest you most.
Can I combine Nizwa with Jabal Akhdar?
Yes, but that becomes a different and longer itinerary. A dedicated Nizwa & Jabal Akhdar tour is a better option if you want to experience both.
